Titanic DVD
Little needs to be said of Titanic. The name pretty much speaks for itself. Based on the epic tale of the massive cruise liner that met a doomed fate in the Atlantic Ocean thanks to an iceberg, Titanic tells the story by involving a tragic tale of love and romance that features powerful acting from Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet. The movie took home almost every Academy Award it was nominated for and is still the top grossing movie of all time. Obviously, not much needs to be said about the quality of the movie and the reception it received from critics and viewers.
The movie is considered one of the finest pieces of cinema ever produced. The way it was filmed and the mastery scene set-up helped to create a movie that burnt itself into the memories of nearly everyone who watched it. Beautiful scenery and backdrops and a well written script help to make this movie simply eye candy.
The DVD captures this eye candy superbly. The movie made a fine transition onto DVD format and the movie is presented in extremely high quality. The environments and scenery are simply beautiful and there are no problems with lighting. Although the movie is a lengthy three hours, it is made a lot easier to view thanks to the quality in which it is presented.
The actors pull of convincing performances. Both Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio acted superbly and fit their roles extremely well. Although neither went on to create movies that even neared the success and fan-fare of Titanic and both definitely delivered their most inspired roles, the two have surprisingly good on-scene chemistry and complement each other extremely well.
Little needs to be said of the audio in Titanic except that it is captured in very high quality Dolby sound on the DVD. The music in Titanic is probably as famous as the movie itself and it simply blew away the competition and took home all the awards. And rightfully so, the movie has a soundtrack that is unmatched and simply remarkable. Every scene in the movie is complemented by the audio soundtrack that really fuels the movie despite most not taking notice of this.
The movie comes in two forms, standard and Special editions. The standard edition is basically just the movie with very little extras. The Special Edition is a three-disc compilation that features absolutely tons of special features that fans of the movie will no doubt want to see. The extras were done very well and deserve to be viewed.
Titanic, thankfully, makes it safely to port when appearing in DVD form. The movie’s quality was captured very well and anyone who enjoyed the movie will definitely want to pick this DVD up. The extras are spectacularly done in the Special Edition and warrant the extra price tag. The DVD doesn’t suffer the same tragic fate as the Titanic itself to the benefit of viewers.
